Solid wood is one of our favourite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.

Although we usually invite guests to the living room, this time let us welcome you to the garage. Meet another team of our TV project "HOME IDEA with IKEA": our hero Stasys who spends a lot of time in his garage, and IKEA interior designer Mantvydas Breivė who has been also invited for a short stay there.
15 square meter home has plenty of room for everything, from comfortable work to quality sleep. Is it hard to believe? Let us welcome you to a creative one-room apartment with a bedroom, home office, kitchen and wardrobe in one.
This week, we invite you to visit a vivid Dirmantai family in Vilnius. The family of five lives in a five-room apartment, and each of the brothers has a separate room. Unfortunately, during the renovation of their apartment, the room of the eldest brother remained untouched. The twelfth-grader Andrius is a very active young man who makes a video blog about fishing and has many other hobbies. Could he fit them all into a small room? IKEA interior designer Asta helped Andrius to find the answer.
Take a walk around IKEA Showroom together with our interior designer Ingrida. She is the one who has furnished this modern-style apartment with a spacious bedroom for the newlyweds and their baby.
Life can get wildly busy and when your home is your workspace too, it can be difficult to slow things down. Step into a bedroom that works as a perfect on/off switch, with clutter-banishing storage and a soft, tone-on-tone colour palette for an instantly relaxing atmosphere.
This week, “Home idea with IKEA” has a very special surprise. And we have not created it all alone: the three sisters decided to surprise their beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Vilė by starting a makeover in her kitchen, which has not been renovated for almost forever and a day. Our interior designer Ilona was more than happy to help.
When this couple decided to move in together, they did so with a common vision of what home should mean. Between the walls of their one-bedroom apartment, they’ve distilled their mutual love of order, elegance and entertaining, creating an inviting space they’re pleased to return to every single day.
This week we have visited the Katinai family – Andrius, Viktorija and their twin boys. We have met in the living room, but in their home, this room is not just for welcoming guests. It’s where the family spends their free time and keeps a lot of things, and while the children are playing there, Andrius and Viktorija are trying to concentrate on their work and creativity. To make sure the living room provides enough space for everyone and everything, the family asked our interior designer Anželika for help and ideas.
Given the chance, most people may opt for more room rather than less, but there is no reason a small space need be a compromise. Sure, you may have to be a bit more creative, but with smart storage ideas, multipurpose furniture and space saving solutions, any home can be optimised. Take a look around this apartment to see what we mean!
