Screws and any other fixing devices you might need to fix your solution securely to the wall (e.g. wall plugs) are not included.

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

“Home idea with IKEA”: a neat and tidy room for a first-former

Meet one of the youngest heroes of this season. Her name is Ida and she is a proud collector of puzzles, as well as a first-former to be. As the girl has been growing faster than her room, it needed a complete makeover, which IKEA interior designer Birutė was happy to give.

“Home idea with IKEA”: a growing room for growing children

Little Kotryna with her parents Alginta and Dainius used to be the three owners of their three-room apartment. Yet with the birth of Vakarė, their family became bigger and their home had to experience some changes. The parents wanted Kotryna to move into a separate room with enough space for growing and playing, so that one day both sisters could live together. IKEA interior designer Ilona Mozgo took the task of setting up the girls' room in the former parents' bedroom.

“Home idea with IKEA”: more room for hobbies and growing personalities

Meet Justė (15 years old) and Jokūbas (17 years old), the siblings who share one room and have a hard time to find enough space for their two very different growing personalities. Justė loves dancing and gardening, Jokūbas enjoys skateboarding and building the boards himself. They both have many hobby-related items and, unfortunately, too little space to accommodate them all. Therefore, the parents of the teenagers asked our interior designer Dovilė for help. Check the result and browse the IKEA digital catalogue for even more ideas and practical tips.

Before and after: a living room for we-time, work, and play

We are starting the sixth season of “Home idea with IKEA” at the home of Rita from Vilnius and her three little daughters. While dad was away for work, the girls decided to start some makeovers. A team of our interior designers came to help them rearrange the room, bring more order, and create enough space for everyone (including two dogs, a turtle, and a hamster) to spend time together.

The 50th anniversary episode of "Home Idea with IKEA" invites us to Kaunas. The occasion is special, no less than the heroine of this week, the golden-ager Laima who is bursting with joy and energy. Having worked as an accountant all her life, she has finally discovered her true vocation and now spends most of her time with her grandchildren. Laima is full of love for the little ones yet tends to forget showing some of it to herself. She lives in an old apartment and sleeps on the couch in the room that used to belong to her already adult daughters. Together with the interior designer Laura, we came to furnish a bedroom that she has fairly deserved.

“Home idea with IKEA”: from a pantry to a baby‘s room

Evaldas and Agnė are expecting a baby boy, who already has a name – it’s Benas. The newly baked parents decided to dedicate a separate room for their new family member. The space is small and oddly shaped, but the couple wants to fit all the necessary furniture there. How to choose the right furniture for the growing baby? To find the answer, this week’s heroes teamed up with our interior designer Gabrielė Leistrumaitė.
