Care instructions

If you want to sterilize the jar with hot water, preheat the jar first with warm tap water. This prevents the glass from cracking.

The glass jar is dishwasher-safe. The gasket needs to be washed by hand.

Only for food and beverages with a max. temperature of 50°C.

Good to know

The jar is aroma-tight and suitable for preserving food. But bear in mind that the rubber gasket needs to be clean and in good condition to function properly.

Wash this product before using it for the first time.

Replacement rubber gaskets may be sold separately.

Preserving food and all its flavour

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other home-made treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavour. And since the jars are made of glass, you can easily see what’s inside, increasing the chance food gets eaten and not thrown away.

People+Planet

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other homemade treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavour.

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

Before and after: a new kitchen for mother of three kids

Visit another family of our TV project "HOME IDEA with IKEA": mother Mintarė and three her kids: fifteen-year-old Rusnė and her little siblings Preila and Vakaris. Since the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in this family’s home, they decided to renew it with a helping hand of IKEA interior designer Ilona Mozgo.
