What is solid wood?

Solid wood is one of our favourite materials and is part of our Scandinavian heritage. It is also a timeless material with many uses. Regardless of the wood species, it is durable, beautiful and renewable. We strive to use this raw material as smartly and efficiently as possible to avoid waste – and we also invest in facilities and logistics so that we can increase the use of recycled wood.

Several shades of acacia

Strong, steady and multipurpose is one way you could describe the SKOGSTA collection. It’s made from acacia – a durable wood mostly used in outdoor furniture, finally let indoors. And instead of throwing parts of the tree trunk away as others do, we combined the lighter trunk with darker parts of the tree. The result is a blend that gives the collection a unique expression, topped with a coat of wax to preserve its natural beauty for years to come.

Built to age beautifully

Have you ever had a piece of furniture that's been in the family for years? Somehow they have a way of picking up more and more character as the years go by. Building furniture that ages well often comes down to the material it's made from. That's why we worked with solid acacia wood – a timber usually used outdoors, to bring its hardwearing qualities to the SKOGSTA collection. A range of products designed to help you enjoy cooking and eating together for years to come.
