Key features

With this modelling dough you can shape and create what you like – in any of the 6 colours or in your own colour by mixing.

The modelling dough is flexible and easy to shape.

Dough is an excellent artistic material for preschool children, but is fun to play with for children of all ages.

Perfect to play with when friends visit, at a children's party or when the family wants to do something creative together.

When the dough runs out, the containers can be used to store beads, marbles and other small things.

Working with hands improves your child's ability to learn and their fine motor skills.

An ideal gift for children who love to do arts and crafts.

Of course everything in the MÅLA series is non-toxic – we care just as much about the creative minds of the next generation as you do.

Good to know

Comprises: 6 containers with lids and modelling dough in the colours red, pink, blue, yellow, orange and green.

This product contains wheat (gluten).

WARNING! CHOKING HAZARD - small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

Recommended for ages from 3 years.

This product bears the CE mark.

Fun to play with, but not to eat. Pay extra attention if you create objects which are similar to food so that you do not confuse them with real food by mistake.

If you store the dough in the containers with the lid on and avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, the dough will keep its flexibility and colour for longer.

In an unopened container, the dough has a lifespan of about 2 years.

If a piece of dough is left outside the tub and gets a bit dry, you can knead in a drop of water to make it softer.

Do not place the dough in the oven, microwave or near other heat sources.

The dough is not water-resistant, so avoid creating boats or anything else that can be exposed to or end up in water.

Keep the dough away from your pet since it may cause harm if they lick or eat it.

MÅLA modelling dough

Modelling dough for connoisseurs

How should really good modelling dough feel? When we developed MÅLA modelling dough, we brought in the real experts. A group of children between ages three and seven got to test the different samples, and while creating imaginative figures, they told us their requirements.

When we develop products, we always start with people’s actual needs. So, when we develop products for children, we usually invite the little ones to tell us what they think. “We call it Kids Lab, and when working with MÅLA modelling dough, the children’s thoughts were invaluable,” explains Magnus Thuvesson, who leads the work in the Kids Lab.

Sparks creativity

It wasn’t only the children who put their hands into the different samples, the parents and grandparents that came along, started to knead and shape figures too. “There’s something about modelling dough that automatically sparks creativity, no matter what age you are. But the children found it much easier to describe the differences between the samples. One was too sticky, another too hard. The children clearly had more sensitivity in their fingers.”

Crafts that last

Together with his colleagues, Magnus carefully registered the children’s opinions to be able to create the best modelling dough. But he also noticed a special atmosphere around the table. “This is the kind of craft that can create a calm, almost meditative mood.” When you want that calm moment, the modelling dough is easy to take out – and just as easy to put away. To make it long-lasting without becoming too dry, you should store MÅLA modelling dough in its plastic container with an airtight lid. “If a piece of dough is left outside the container and becomes a bit dry, you can easily knead in a drop of water to make it soft and smooth and ready for new fantastic shapes.”
