What is bamboo?

Bamboo is a grass that can grow up to a metre per day. It spreads quickly and requires hardly no fertilizers and pesticides. Bamboo can be woven into fabrics or used as a durable, stable and hard material suitable for furniture. When used for furniture, its properties make it possible to create designs with thin elements using less material. We use woven bamboo for baskets and lampshades and hard bamboo for boxes, chopping boards, tables, chairs and more.

Environment

By using a fast-growing, renewable material like bamboo in this product, we avoid using fossil or finite materials. Renewable materials, as opposed to fossil and finite materials, come from living sources that can be regenerated at the same rate as they are used up. We want to have a positive impact on the planet. That is why by 2030, we want all materials in our products to be recycled or renewable, and sourced in responsible ways.
