Key features

Before using your proofing basket for the first time, it should be treated as follows: Moisten the proofing basket with water. Sprinkle flour over the basket. Tip and gently shake out excess flour and allow the proofing basket to dry.

Place the dough in the proofing basket and cover it with the included cloth. Once the dough has risen, place the bread on a baking tray and put it in the oven.

Dust the proofing basket with flour before each use, make sure the flour covers all surfaces and gets in all grooves. Tip and gently shake out excess flour.

The first times you use the proofing basket, you may need to use extra flour to prevent the dough from sticking. It can take up to three uses before the proofing basket works optimally.

A cotton/linen blend which combines the softness of cotton with the shine and firmness of linen.

Rattan is a natural material giving small variations in colour and appearance.

Perfect size every time. A proofing basket holds the dough in place and gives bread the right height when it rises – and gives the loaf a nice pattern when it’s done. After all, we also eat with our eyes.

Rattan is a natural fibre that might change colour over time.

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.

The little farmhouse kitchen
The little farmhouse kitchen

Brightly coloured pickles carefully dated and lined up; a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread soon to be sliced; around the corner, a few scalloped dishes waiting to be washed – all signs that while on the smaller side, this little farmhouse-style kitchen does more than deliver: it is used and enjoyed every day.

Get the kids cooking and teach them healthy habits
Get the kids cooking and teach them healthy habits

Measuring, mixing, setting the table – having the kids help out in the kitchen is not only fun, it's educational. And not just when it comes to teaching them how to cook. It's also a chance to create healthier eating habits that will serve them – and the planet – throughout their lives.

It's ok to change your mind!
