Good to know

You will need 1 STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip (165x235 cm) for this rug. Trim if necessary.

Use STOPP FILT rug underlay with anti-slip for increased safety and comfort; to be placed under the entire rug.

This product has been tested for domestic use.

Wave farewell to flying carpets

STOPP and STOPP FILT anti-slip rug underlays keep your rugs firmly in place, so no one slips on them. Cut the underlays to any size you need. STOPP FILT, which is 4 mm thick, also helps preserve hand-knotted rugs and makes all your rugs feel thicker and softer.

What is wool?

Wool is a practical natural material that usually comes from sheep. The raw wool is washed and then spun into yarn. Wool rugs have many advantages. They're soft, warm and comfortable to walk on, and they're also very hardwearing. They're stain-resistant too, because wool has it own natural oil. This means that dirt stays on the surface and doesn't penetrate into the rug. All wool rugs shed - some more, some less - vacuum them regularly to prevent the loose fibres from scattering.

Nurturing the tradition of handmade rugs

Rug weaving has a rich history with craftmanship that has been passed down through generations. This is kept alive, in part by the skilled men and women who make IKEA rugs at weaving centres approved by us. Here, we can secure the well-being of the artisans and their communities as well as the resources we use. So, when you buy one of our handmade rugs, you become owner of a unique piece, while also contributing to positive change for the people who make them.

Designer Paulin Machado

"The work with KOLLUND rug started with an idea I discussed with skilled weavers. With the help of their expertise, we found a solution that could be hand-woven effectively. The pattern is created by two weavers sitting side-by-side and working in parallel with one hexagon each ‒ a way of working that requires very good cooperation, like dancing tango. I hope that both you and your feet like the genuine craftsmanship and the rug’s soft and beautiful surface."
