A bright table setting for family Easter and everyday meals
Whether it’s an everyday gathering or a celebration, let the season set the
tone with a stylish spring table. Go bold, be creative and make it comfortable for both the little and the big ones.
Bring old tableware to life
Easily update your existing tableware by adding a bowl or plate in another shade. Mix and match different materials like HEDERLIG wine glasses, TACKSAMHET paper napkins, KRUSTAD porcelain and textiles to make your own unique style. Cut a simple tablecloth from fabric – we went for timeless linen with a slightly wrinkled texture.
Let the children add a personal touch by making their own table decorations. They can cut, fold and glue different flower shapes from MÅLA paper and write all guests’ names on them to turn the cutlery into playful place cards. This will be a fun activity while you are busy in the kitchen.
Let handmade flowers meet the natural ones
Live plants make you feel the springtime mood like anything else. So after decorating the table with paper petals made by children, add an impressive composition of fresh flowers that will give your home a fresh and natural look. To make it more interesting and dynamic, combine different types of greenery and blooming flowers, as well as BERÄKNA vases in different sizes and heights. After all, this is a happy and colourful feast!
One table for kids and grown-ups
To make children feel equal by the Easter table, place same porcelain bowls for all the guests (kids and grown-ups). Then, add safe, colourful and grip-friendly KALAS cutlery for the smallest ones and usual cutlery for adults.
You can also use textiles to separate table areas for children and adults. Combining one-colour tablecloths with patterned ones to make the table more playful and avoid those "small surprises" - colourful patterns make accidental food stains almost invisible (so the egg that has not rolled straight into the plate is no big deal).
Colourful (and instant!) meals
Let your menu put a finishing touch. To please everyone's eyes and taste buds, you don't really have to spend all day at the stove. Just prepare the main course and paint some Easter eggs. The rest of your table can be covered with instant snacks, such as SJÖRAPPORT cured salmon or seaweed pearls. Serve cold as egg or canapé topping, as salad decoration, or prepare sandwiches on a sea salt, dill, poppy and sesame seasoned KNÄCKEBRÖD DILL crispbread.
Go bold with fabrics
Who said your tablecloth has to be pure white? If your dining set comes in one neutral colour, go bold with fabrics! Replace the ordinary tablecloth with beautiful curtains or use a patterned TORGERD fabric to cover the table. Later on, you can use it to sew some cushion covers or even a new dress!
